Jed Whedon was born in Los Angeles, California. He went to Marquez Elementary School where he learned to play the recorder. After that he tried out some other instruments and, let’s be honest, some illicit substances too.

He toured with his band The Southland for many years and now writes for television along with his wife Maurissa Tancharoen. Seven years ago she gifted them with a daughter, Benny Sue, who serves as constant distraction/inspiration and is learning to play the piano.

As far as musical influences, Jed lists Pink Floyd, Randy Newman, Jane’s Addiction, Stephen Sondheim, Brian Eno, The Pharcyde, Paul Simon, Radiohead, Steely Dan, Frank Zappa, Duke Ellington, and his brother Sam.

The Willing is made up of anyone willing to play along.
